The day has gone by so fast and has been so hectic, I’m not actually sure what all happened or how much I missed. Another thing that has woooooshed by is summer vacation…
School starts back next Tuesday, and that’s a day that I have to drive. I smirk when I hear all the old timers talk about “no air conditioning when they were in school” acting all tough, when the fact of the matter is…they didn’t go to school in August.
Here’s what I hate most:
About every home has A/C; you send a child to school to sit all day in the A/C; but you load them on a 115 degree (and I’ve seen it higher!) school bus for a 45 minute ride back to their air-conditioned homes. Now what do you think is going to happen? You’re gonna have sick kids. Where do they puke? On the bus! And who cleans it up? NOT the person who decides that August 5th is a great time to start back to school! Even parents who are glad to see school start to get a break from their bored kids don’t want them to be sick. It’s sad actually — but like most everything else — it is what it is.
Please take extra time when you’re driving to work (or school) no matter where you live as summer vacation is about over. Watch out for the big yellow twinkies — they are absolutely hauling the most precious cargo of any vehicle on the road.
