in the mirror

May 5, 2010

We often start and end our days by looking into a mirror, and it’s usually a source of positive or negative emotion about our self-image. Fat. Skinny. Old. Young. Ugly. Pretty. Some see what isn’t there, and others refuse to see what’s right there in front of them. Funny how that works, huh?

Then it gets even more complicated. The way you see yourself is most likely different than the way your friends/family see you, which is different than the way colleagues or acquaintances see you, and still different from the way strangers see you.
