As I’ve said, I follow many local and national news source outlets. Working on something else, out of the corner of my eye I notice my reader is grabbing “NEW” news updates like crazy!!
I watch as the “new” news articles number 10…then 20… (download, download, download) … then 50 and 100. Omg! Something horrible must’ve happened. 200…300…500… (download, download, download) I wonder if the sun is rapidly falling toward earth! 1000…2000… Everyone MUST be saying goodbyes…
Nope. One of the news sources I follow, the Indiana Business Journal (ibj.com), did something that caused 3,596 articles to appear as new news. WTH IBJ?? I’ve seen them (only them — NEVER any other news entities) do this on a pretty regular basis — normally around 10-15 a night — but over 3500 at one time?? Sheesh! The oldest was first published in 2004!
