cows and plows – life in Indiana

May 29, 2012

I’m not the only one back to work this Tuesday after Memorial Day. Rain and cooler temps in the forecast has farmers scrambling to do whatever it is farmers do before rain. At least out here…

Looking at my surroundings while talking to someone in Stockholm, Sweden this morning, I started thinking about what his surroundings might look like at that exact moment. I imagine him to be in a large corporate office, dressed in something business casual. I figure he can glance over his shoulder and see others dressed in business casual attire walking around acting all business-like. The walls that encompass his office in my mind are bone white with large framed posters hanging perfectly straight in rigid alignment.

Even with my southern accent (that I have NO CLUE its origin), I doubt he could fathom I see a tractor as I’m talking to him, and I’m wearing shorts and am barefooted. The Wicked Witch of the West hangs on one wall, (my friends and family can of course appreciate that!) and I have a dog snoring softly under my chair.

I wonder… is my perception of his surroundings as far from reality as I assume his perception is of mine? 😉
