as it rushes past

Yesterday was WINDY!
Not just an occasional breeze either — but a steady blowing that had the leaves waving most all afternoon. In less than 15 minutes outside I had taken fail photos because my hair kept blowing over the lens, watched as my dogs chased the neighbors chickens back to their own property, and ate about a pound of dirt.

Oh yah, it’s harvest time. A sure sign of fall AND a signal that I’m going to have a mouse find a way to get inside soon. It never fails. I’ve tried everything to keep the little critters out — from poison under the house to steel wool in every little crevice — nothing seems to keep 100% of them at bay. If you have ideas, please share.

Oh, I wasn’t the only one with hair blowing all over the place. This is what happens when you stand still as the wind rushes past.
