My buddy, Alisa, sent me a few photos that are as old as dirt. I’m not certain if she just took pictures of pictures or scanned them or what — but the ones she forwarded to me were more than entertaining. Like the one on the left (compared to a current Coco photo where you can see how much she resembles Ben at approximately the same age).
While this whole digital thing is amazing, I worry that I no longer have print photos of anything. I have bajillions of photos taking up hard disk space on every computer I own. And on a backup drive too. It’s like the Jim Gaffigan comedy routine (this is the wedding computer, this is the vacation 2010 computer, etc.). On a Mac, iPhoto is a huge disk space sink.
Make sure you backup all your digital photos, you guys — but don’t think you have to have everything backed up in 10 places. Cleaning up disk space will really increase your computer’s performance. I just dumped over 350 gig of images from this new laptop (I simply migrated files from my desktop when I got it new) and it’s faster already.
