If yesterday, the 1st day of the new year, is any indication… 2019 is going to be rough!
First, I fill an essential oil diffuser with water and oil and plug it in. Nothing. I wondered if something could be wrong with the outlet so I moved it to another. Still nothing. I throw the diffuser in the trash and order a new one on Amazon.
Next, I head outside to take down the Christmas lights. I push the garage door button and it stops about 1/2 way up — so I push it again. The door then jumped track, creaked and groaned, and I cringed waiting on it to fall on my car.
I call Ben in a panic and he arrives and helps me get the thing up enough to get the car out of the garage and out of danger. (The door is so low, he has to take off the antennae so I can slide out under the rickety thing.) Once we move both cars out to the end of the driveway, we can’t get the door to go down.
Although I planned to get a new garage door in the spring, I can’t leave it like it is until March — so I call a guy I know and he comes right away. (Whew! That’s the ONLY good news of the day.) He gets the door down and will install a new one yet this week.
After I figured out that the door flipped breakers causing the outlets not to work, I tried to dig the non-broken diffuser out of the trash — but I’d emptied the contents of the vacuum on it so dog hair and dirt were matted in the oily water.
Happy freaking 2019, you guys.
