My Google Fi account lasted exactly one day. I’ve already cancelled. A couple things you need to know if you’re considering the service…
I first tried the G-fi sim card in my old iPhone 8. Even though I modified all the settings exactly as instructed, I couldn’t send text messages. I also wasn’t thrilled with the fact that two iPhones with one iCloud account means text messages are received on both phones. (That’s the Apple thang and not Google Fi’s fault.)
So I popped the sim into Perry’s last Android phone. Google Fi would NOT let me turn data off. Every single time I did, notifications kept popping up that data was required to be on. I didn’t WANT data — so, I didn’t want Google Fi. And finally, I only had two bars for service inside my house. No improvement whatsoever above AT&T.
Still a good deal if you go with the unlimited option as your primary service, I think — just not workable for me.
Now that Google Fi will likely not be mentioned here again, how about an ongoing topic? Seymour, Indiana! Check out what’s going on at local business, This Old Guitar…
