the ripple effect

May 14, 2020

Doesn’t it seem crazy how COVID-19 has rippled across the world at an alarming rate? Like a pebble dropped into a lake (or if you’re quarantined at home… like a fork dropped into dishwater), the effects of this virus have spread so very far.

I’ve never been excessively optimistic about anything, but I do believe in looking for the good in every situation.

Like… isn’t it amazing how the lack of driving has resulted in cleaner air and less pollution? And what about the fact that people in general are discovering that some things are more important than money? Health. Health, for sure, is more important.

Besides health, what would the world be with music? That’s more important too, right? So I figure it’s fitting I share “Ripple” from 2015’s Playing for Change:

If I were being honest, I would admit I’m also sharing it because doing so saves the link and I can easily find it to listen/watch again later. If I were being brutally honest, it’s because I LOVE Jimmy Buffet — and I think Roberto from Italy and Elyasaf from Israel are both pretty darned hot — even though Bill Kreutzmann and David Crosby more my age. 🙂

So what ripples are you putting out in the universe today?

Reach out your hand if your cup be empty
If your cup is full may it be again
Let it be known there is a fountain
That was not made by the hands of men
