if you’re a hammer, every problem looks like a nail

Oct 18, 2020

The Summit is OVER. My work on it, unfortunately, is not. I’ve hammered for all I’m worth and I still have nails sticking up all over the place.

The event was successful and I’m alive, you guys! What I have left to accomplish are things I like doing and am good at — where until the conclusion of the event I was doing what needed to be done and making decisions without enough information. I’m so relieved!

It’s true that stress does a number on your body. And your brain, obviously. Have you ever had sleep paralysis? It’s like where you’re sort of awake and you’re aware, but you can’t move or speak. I did last night. It was 3:00 AM and I tried so hard to get Merida’s attention so she would wake me up… but I couldn’t even grunt. It’s scary and it’s awful.

So here’s hoping tonight will be a good night filled with amazing dreams. 🙂 Not going to lie, I’m almost afraid to go to sleep for fear it could happen again. I mean, I’m not doing ANYTHING recommended to keep it from happening:

The main treatment is improved sleep habits (sleep hygiene) including going to bed at the same time every night, ensuring a comfortable sleep environment free of distractions, and avoiding caffeine before sleeping.

HA!

This is in my rear view mirror… (only part of screen one… and there were many others).

the Summit is over
