Just a couple Covid-19 thoughts and questions… a step back in the past, and a glimpse at a current small town local thing I thought was pretty cool:
The COVID vaccine — I’ve seen many posts on Facebook asking people if they are going to take it. Many say they can’t wait or already have, while others think it’s too soon — no long-term studies on what might happen. I guess if I was 25 or 30 knowing that survival rates are infinitely higher, I might take a pass. At my age — and after losing a classmate and having close family members at high risk — I think the pros outweigh the potential cons.

Changes resulting from the pandemic — The pandemic has changed something about everyone. Even if it’s nothing more than wearing a mask or not being able to go to an event or travel, COVID-19 has touched every single person in some way. There are those that feel the challenge more than others for sure.
I’ve not exercised (just back on the treadmill this morning!) as much and I’m cooking more — as a person that HATES to cook and is NOT good at it… that can either be positive or negative. It’s according to which side of the fork you’re on. I even bought a stand mixer, you guys. And, I’ve been baking cakes like it’s my job!

TIL (Today I Learned): The last US Civil War Widow died in 2020. The practice of a young woman marrying an older man for his Civil War pension as a dependent was common practice in the early 20th century. Interesting to note, dude was 86 at the time of marriage and she was 19. Read more…
