Another COVID birthday in the books and it was amazing! March 11th marked one-year of me staying away from just about everyone and everything. Here I am today… celebrating my 2nd birthday during a pandemic. While still different than what would normally take place, I’m grateful and happy and healthy. And it was truly a wonderful day.
Here’s just a short list of what was awesome…
- Perry and I drove to The Cheesecake factory for favorites — chicken madeira is the bomb.
- I had my favorite pineapple upside down cheesecake… and I have over 1/2 left for tomorrow.
- Merida’s first time being left alone and she didn’t tear up one single thing! Woot!
- Many friends and family wished me a happy birthday — and I even had a singing voicemail!
- The peskies called and sang only the first line of ‘Happy Birthday.’ (Thankful it was brief!) 😉
- Even though they’re vaccinated, Perry is next to lethal and I still have enough faith in the CDC to be uncomfortable exposing them to him until after he’s vaccinated.
- The sun was shining for the drive…
7. And finally, I got to eat a birthday meal with my favorite son and granddaughter!
I have a good feeling that life is slowing returning to a better place. Not because of the president (certainly not that!!), but because I believe as we learn more about COVID and more people are protected from it, the better life becomes for all of us. Look at me spewing out all of this positive talk although I STILL don’t qualify for a stimulus payment.
TIL (Today I Learned): Microsoft tried a 4-day workweek in Japan (2019, pre-covid) as part of a “Work Life Choice Challenge” by shutting down offices every Friday. Productivity, measured by sales per employee, increased by almost 40% compared to the same period the previous year.
