One aspect of my work is executive coaching. I don’t coach anyone — people don’t line up to learn how to be a fabulous dog mom — but I do frequently correspond with those in our coaching programs. That’s how I virtually met Connie.
This sweet lady wanted me to know that my favorite brother told her how much he appreciated me, and how my contribution was paramount to success. She figured as a sibling, I might not have been told that fact. She was right on that point. Then she said how great it was we lived close to one another and worked together. Nope!
I replied to her kind message and told her I lived in Seymour, Indiana — far away from Scott’s home in Las Vegas. She emailed back to let me know her parents lived in Seymour after they were first married. All the places in the world… and her parents lived here… a place she’s never been. Connie now lives in Niagara Falls, NY so she’s not planning any trips to southern Indiana in the near future.
Her mother wrote her biography before she passed. Connie is going to dust off the pages and is hoping to find their Seymour address. She’d love a photo of the home her parents “started housekeeping” in. I’m happy to take a drive and capture a photo for her.
Because she’s a paying client, I didn’t tell her that my brother sees the Oak Ridge Boys more often than he sees his sister — or the rest of his family. 🙂
Especially after she proclaimed: FAMILY IS EVERYTHING!
TIL (Today I Learned): Ravens have been observed calling wolves to the site of dead animals so that the wolves will then open up the carcass and leave the scraps for the ravens once they’re finished. Talk about mutually beneficial relationship building!
