what’s behind drawer number two?

Did you ever play the Chinese Whispers or Telephone game as a kid?

It’s where players form a line and the first player comes up with a message and whispers it in the ear of the second player. On it goes down the line from one to the next until it reaches the last player who announces the message they heard. The first person then compares the original message with the final version. Errors accumulate in the retellings so the statement differs significantly from that of the first player.

I’ve been playing Chinese Whispers all week!

What I know for sure is that Perry’s niece is no longer in a coma. I know she ate 3 chicken nuggets yesterday… but it could’ve been 10. I know her Mom and Dad took photos of her while in a coma and her Dad actually used one as his cover image on Facebook. 🙄 I know she has a “long road ahead of her” insofar as recovery. (The lasting effects on her physical and mental well-being — and what new limitations she must overcome — are unknown.)

What didn’t reach my ear as a whisper that I also know for sure is that Merida is fully aware of which drawer the treats are in. If looking at me with those sad, brown eyes doesn’t magically open that drawer, she’s been known to just paw it open herself.

Merida wants a treat.

But when I get the “GIMMIE A COOKIE NOW OR ELSE” look, it’s so much easier to ignore her wishes. And that’s proof that you can “catch more bees with honey than you can with vinegar,” you guys.

Gimme a cookie!

TIL (Today I Learned): Adidas bought the iconic three stripe design from a Finnish sportswear company for two bottles of whiskey and less than $2,000 USD.
