Today was HOT! I saw 90°F and read that the heat index was tipping at 100°F. That was when I was push mowing the backyard and wielding a weed-eater that weighed at least 200 pounds by the time I finished. Interesting how my Apple watch recorded the activity… green is low exertion with the brightest orange/red being the highest…
Basically, the only time I didn’t feel like I was dying was when I started and finished. I sweat off at least 25 pounds!
Even now, at after 7:00 PM ET, it’s still close to 90°. Crazy that it’s 15° cooler right now in Bradenton, Florida — where the peskies often spend the winter months — than it is right here in good ole’ southern Indiana.
While sweating my butt off I was thinking about how hard it was for me — and how difficult it is for others currently — that work, have kids, and also have to keep up with the regular things required to run a household. Single parents (and I’ve been one), have the biggest challenge.
I’ve worked all the livelong day without a moment to spare (until now). I figure I’m in ok shape for my age… and still… if I had a child to care for, worked outside the home all day and came home to what it took me all day to do — I’d just rather throw in the towel.
