Practice doesn’t make perfect like the old saying goes. At least not for Wal-mart’s online grocery delivery anyway. You’d think with their reported 300% growth in pick-up and delivery that started during the pandemic they’d have the system down pat by now. That’s not my experience.
No bottled Dasani water for a full month and no offer to substitute any other brand. I guess there’s just no bottled water in Seymour. Last week, I got a squirt bottle of strawberry jelly I didn’t order and someone else got my crackers and 3lb package of ground round. This week I got all my items, but the cap was off a bottle of Perry’s body wash and everything smelled like sandalwood.
But the best part this time around was the email notifications…
11:16 AM – Shelley, your order is out for delivery
11:34 AM – Your order has been delivered
11:37 AM – Sorry, your delivery order is delayed and we’ll send you an update as soon as your order is ready for delivery
If people are like me and keep ordering to avoid going in the store — and so long as Amazon doesn’t come to town — I guess they will keep right on doing what they’re doing.
As my granddaughter says, “You get what you get and you don’t throw a fit.” 🙂
Although Merida throws a fit over EVERYTHING, I did catch her in a zen moment today. Since this happens about as often as Wal-mart gets an order correct, I thought it deserved documentation.
TIL (Today I Learned): There’s a little-known train terminal beneath the Waldorf Astoria New York called ‘Track 61.” It’s used to sweep politicians and prolific celebrities out of the city in secrecy. It’s joined to the hotel by a hidden elevator.
