here we go again… probably

Jan 6, 2022

On Tuesday at 10:30 AM ET, our January events started requesting reschedules. COVID is on the rampage so here we go again… probably. Because the dates are moving to spring, the requests were for ones already held by other clients, and a couple by bureaus hired by other clients. That means I got to talk to other booking agents and they all said the same thing:

They worried this would happen throughout the holidays, but heard nothing on Monday. Calls started pouring in on Tuesday morning.

My guess is that clients were discussing it on Monday and possibly first contacting their venues to make certain the reschedule dates they wanted were available for meetings prior to contacting the speakers. Makes sense to me anyway. No matter, it basically screws the bottom line for another year. I’m about over it all… Covid AND corporate meeting planning. 😡

This shit poo poo is everywhere and Jackson County is certainly no exception. Crothersville Town Board meetings are on FB live and the Clerk Treasurer and a Councilman were not wearing masks. It’s no wonder our county is red and others around us are not. My city is no different. Peep our Mayor’s FB photo shared this morning of himself and the “City Team.”

I picked up a couple boxes of rapid tests last week and I’m glad I did. The price reflected is now up over $10 but there are none to buy even at the higher amount. Locally, all testing places are booked for at least 3-days. Most everyone I know is positive (or has been within the past week) except for Perry, my son and granddaughter, the Peskies, and my cohorts in crime… only one of which would pose for a photo. And only because I promised her it would snow today. 🙂

There are some types of businesses hit harder by the pandemic than others. Here’s hoping yours isn’t one of those. A friend made a post on Facebook about how those refusing to be vaccinated are courageous and brave. Also shared was a graphic discouraging PCR testing. Why? Because the claim is that ancient Egyptians bruised the amygdala in the same manner to make slaves more submissive — indicating that’s what healthcare workers are doing to those getting tested.

I’m still battling my fingers so they don’t type a scathing reply.

TIL (Today I Learned): The amygdala is 15 centimeters from the nostril. PCR test samples are taken 2-3 centimeters from the nostril. For those playing along at home — that’s a difference of OVER FIVE INCHES.
