Here we are… close to April… and spring has forgotten all about my slice of the world. These are the projected high temperatures for this week starting today: 43°, 45°, 76°, 49°, 51°, 49°. I’m not the only one sick of this, either. The girls are ready for some sunshine.
Did y’all see the Oscars last night?
The big excitement surrounded Will Smith, up for best actor and his wife, Jada. Quickie background info: Will Smith confirmed he and Jada have an “open relationship” (she openly dated her son’s friend) and Jada is bald (she’s been open about her battle with alopecia and her hair loss).
So Regina Hall made a joke about Smith’s open marriage and everyone laughed. Chris Rock made a G.I. Jane joke because of Jada’s close cropped hair. Will Smith laughed until he saw Jada roll her eyes and then he went up on stage and slapped Chris Rock. Once back to his seat Smith shouted, “Keep my wife’s name out yo’ fucking mouth.” Twice he shouted the same thing.
Then Will won an Oscar and went on stage and talked about God and how he wanted to be a vessel of love. What??
Just my opinion… Chris Rock shouldn’t have told the joke and Will Smith shouldn’t have hit him. If “the vessel of love” was going to sit and shout from his seat anyway… couldn’t he have come up with something a little better than that?
