Purchasing this place has been interesting to say the least. Yesterday I received the settlement statement for closing that reveals all the costs involved to complete the transaction and be provided a shiny new title insurance policy.
The surveyor charged over $2000 dollars!
Out of everything we’ve had done — selling and buying — I’ve found that electricians work the cheapest. Seriously! I wouldn’t have guessed it. Surveyors and plumbers are the most expensive per time spent — followed by roofers and general contractors. Go figure.
Today I’ll celebrate being poor again.
Wiring money out today for a closing tomorrow so it’s a good thing those pesky neighbors grow and share food. Not much better than home grown tomatoes!
