I’m a verified resident of the Ville. Sure is good to be back home again.
No fancy box with my name on it filled with sparkling grape juice and other goodies.
There wasn’t anything to mark the sale/purchase like when I sold the Seymour house. There were no photos taken with a “new house” sign that includes happy buyers and sellers. So I came back to my new home and took a selfie. 😏
The last minute hiccup was that the seller’s Dad refused to sign the deed without money. I certainly wasn’t going to pay more — I had a signed purchase agreement. No clue what sort of deal was struck, but good ole’ Dad came in and signed with an hour left to spare before this morning’s closing.
It’s done.
I wouldn’t have been surprised if the closing was cancelled or if it went ahead as planned. The theatrics in this from the beginning have been Tony Award worthy — Best Actor could’ve gone either way. It was a man’s pissing match from the get go. Pretty happy the seller dude won out (with the help of Mrs. Seller). Thankful we were allowed to move in early — and grateful it’s over and done.
