the #1 way to get rid of smells indoors

Imagine if you will… **queue music from Rod Serling’s 1959 TV series, “The Twilight Zone”** a journey into an entire room saturated in polyurethane.

IT SMELLS HORRIBLE!

I did a search on the #1 best way to get rid of the smell, and the answer was: Ventilation.

That’s what I figured, but the confirmation was good. The problem is, ventilation means opening windows and doors and we’re under a flipping freeze advisory. I’m going to do my best to work from my laptop in a different room tomorrow, open all the windows and crank up every fan I have to high.

The #2 suggestion was to place activated charcoal in bowls around the room. I would have to buy at least a couple 50 pound bags to even make a dent in this stinky place.

The #3 suggestion was to sprinkle baking soda on the area and let it set overnight. This translates into an air-compressor powered spray guy to coat the entire room. It says to then vacuum up the baking soda. That would be a job for Perry and Mr. Pesky — 16′ ceilings might be over my physical limitations.

I’m not sure if Merida is napping or if she’s been fumigated to sleep. 😬

TIL (Today I Learned): Ant corpses release a chemical when they die, and other ants will dispose of the corpse. A scientist once recreated this chemical and put it on a live ant. Its ant friends kept bringing it to the graveyard no matter how much it struggled, cleaned itself, or tried to go back to work.
