The contractors were gone for 2 days waiting on a custom door to come in. It was wonderful. It was quiet. But today… they’re back. ๐
I have the final check filled out and on my desk.
They’ll finish today and I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy to give someone money. They’ve done a fabulous job and I couldn’t be happier with the work.
Right this minute, they’re working on the outside door that leads to the deck upstairs. For whatever reason, the storm door was set properly, but the main door was also set near the outside of the frame. That meant it wouldn’t open all the way because it would hit the baseboard/inside wall. ARG!
Merida has been going upstairs with the guys. Then she goes outside the hole in the wall where the door will go, comes down the deck and bangs on the kitchen door that’s on the bottom deck wanting in. Over and over again. Yup, I’m about to lose my ever lovin’ mind. And it’s too cold today to sit outside.
There’s no escape!!
I’m stuck because I can’t go outside. I can’t go upstairs. I can’t escape the noise and they’ve been in and out a bajillion times because they’ve encountered more door challenges. Every single time they go to their work trailer, I worry that Merida will jet out around them, through the garage, and out to the road.
I want to scream: “IN OR OUT!”
That’s what I heard my Momma scream throughout my entire youth. Her other favorite saying was:
“Were you born in a barn?”
No, Mom. But I live in one now. ๐
TIL (Today I Learned): A man bought an unattractive painting for its frame for $4 and discovered one of the 26 known copies of the United Statesโ Declaration of Independence hidden behind it. He later sold it at auction for $2.42 million.
