I’m about half done with the really stressful portion of booking speakers for a client’s event. I’ve spent their money; I’ve got speaker contracts in place; and I’ve provided everything needed for their event website and marketing endeavors.
It’s been overwhelming!
Dealing with a client booking for our business at the same time really put the pressure on. Imagine dealing with a procurement team trying to alter legal verbiage when they aren’t attorneys. 🙄 Now imagine it when you’re already dealing with 6 others for someone else. ARG!
So I asked ChatGPT for 3 ways to manage and alleviate work stress. The suggestions are as follows:
- Delegate and seek support. 😏
- Looking for people I can delegate work to… raise your hand if interested.
- Take breaks and practice self care. 🤪
- If getting up to let dogs out then I did this one. No deep breathing or calming music though.
- Communicate with your manager or team. 🤣
- I don’t even know what a manager is — and I only have 4 legged creatures on my team. This one was a total fail.
I’m pretty sure my contractor friend’s work stress is at a minimum.
He starts early and leaves early. He’s in no hurry and doesn’t push himself or try to meet unrealistic goals. We should all be more like that!
The only thing I did all day that was “relaxing” was take a photo of a moth on a bush.
To help alleviative stress, I’m going to run for public office on the state level.
If you or I had a few too many brewskies and drove anyway, lost control of our vehicle and it veered down a hill, through an interstate guardrail leaving debris, blasted across traffic lanes and went south on a northbound ramp… and then if we left the scene, was picked up walking and said it was the deer’s fault… we would be hit with criminal charges. Right?
Not if you’re a State Rep in Indiana I guess. (Read the Associated Press article >>)
Charges may still be filed — they’re waiting on results from a blood test for his intoxication level. It’s already been a week and they’re still testing.
TIL (Today I Learned): Even with an outside temp of -49°F, an igloo can have an internal temp between 19 and 61°F from body-heat, alone.
