We started the morning yesterday with some low-lying fog.
But this morning the view is different — and it will change even more by tomorrow.
Rex owns and farms about everything on the south side of this road and rotates his crops each year. The farmers that plant on the north side of the road love — and I mean LOVE — beans. I can’t remember the last corn field they put in. Oh well… I’m just happy when they plant… and I’m happy when they harvest.
Rex harvested his corn crop next door last year on 10/27 and 10/28/22.
No clue if harvest came earlier this year because it was beans instead of corn, or if it was weather related. I heard him in the field east of the barndo (trees prevent me from seeing that field) early yesterday, and he began the field on the west side by late afternoon.
He rolled it up just before dark and will finish today.
Even watching dust particles fly is better than privacy fencing as a view!
Still coughing like crazy from whatever bug Disney World sent home with me, all the dust in the air isn’t helping. And… my windows will ALL need to be washed once the process is over and we’ve had a rain. Still, watching farmers farm the same fields I saw as a kid is pretty awesome — and it sure beats looking at privacy fences. 🙂
