Yesterday, 10/10/23, was the first big frost of the season. The black rails on the deck here were white when I got up, and not a hummingbird was in sight.
But we still need to mow one more time. π
Sadly, it’s probably not going to be me on a mower unless the way I feel improves quite a bit more. While I thought I was so much better — healed from the Disney plague I brought home — yesterday was a bad day. I know if I could only sleep I would feel better, but there’s something the doc has me taking that keeps me wide awake no matter how little sleep I’ve gotten.
I’ll never be like Dorothy.
I sent a text to my Momma asking if I could sign her up to skydive. She didn’t respond, but I know she read it because she’s who told me that Dorothy was dead.
Dorothy Hoffner of Chicago did her first jump at 100 years-old. She recently captured the Guinness World Record for the oldest person to parachute from a plane at 104 years-old. βIt was nice, peaceful,β Hoffner said when she landed on the ground.
Just a little over a week after her record-breaking jump, she died peacefully in her sleep. (Article here.)
They say her death had nothing to do with the jump, but no matter — I will never be a Dorothy. EVER! I don’t like to fly and the chance that I’d willingly jump from a plane is exactly ZERO!
What about you? Is skydiving on your bucket list or is it a powerful “no way” for you too?
This is as close to ‘above the trees’ as I care to get:
Now you know: Roughly 1/3 of Japan’s population lives in just the Tokyo Metropolitan Area.
