Mr. Pesky bragged a bit too much about how many birds he had at his feeders. Because of that, I upped my game here by putting another smaller feeder at the back corner of the barndo.
Merida smells them, but hasn’t seen any yet.
The feeder at the front door of the barndo has tons of feasting birds from daylight to almost dark. The only time they leave is when the puppies are on the deck. I have a perfect view of feeder #2 from my desk, and with the window open I can hear their beautiful songs — but none have ventured up close enough yet to eat the seeds.
She may look innocent, but she’s far from it where birds are concerned.
Labs are working dogs. Their ancestors helped carry ropes between boats, tow dories and retrieve fishnets, and are famous for being able to retrieve anything in the water and on the shore. Somewhere down the line, Merida got a bird dog gene because she strives to be their worst nightmare. 🙂
Now you know: Labradors are known for their gentleness, tolerance, and intelligence. Their easy-going nature is what makes them the top choice as American family dogs.
