I made room to store Katie’s bed in Coco’s room. Once she loaded it up to take it with her on her move to Tennessee, it was the perfect time to do some work upstairs. The smaller bed in one upstairs bedroom was moved to Coco’s loft and I ordered a new king mattress and frame for the master.
The joke’s on Perry!
Perry said the two large items were too heavy for he and I to get them upstairs. Bah! I struggled with the heavy metal frame in a box once I was alone and managed to get it up there. I even put the thing together myself! I’ll admit I’m awful at assembly and won’t admit how long it took me. 🙂
Next, I wrestled the mattress and the calvary arrived!
I got the heavy mattress out of the box and drug it to the stairway, but I simply didn’t have the ass to get it up them. Carl arrived with his bad back to work alongside me with my bad back and we got the darned thing up there. We might be old, but we can chalk this project up to a successful endeavor. (Carl is still strong — he could’ve probably thrown that thing across his back and hauled it up there himself.)
What’s next in the barndo’s home improvement projects?
It’s time for drywall repairs and touch up painting in the upstairs family room. I should be able to accomplish everything else that needs done all by myself. Because… never underestimate the power of a woman! Even an old one. 😉
(I shared links to purchase the mattress, bedframe, and quilt/shams on shelleyerwin.com.)
Now you know: In 1972 Led Zeppelin were forced to cancel a gig in Singapore when local officials, seeing their long hair, refused to let them off the plane.
