Yesterday, I headed outside to work in the yard around 9:00 AM and stopped close to 5:00 PM. During that time, I logged right at 20,000 steps and most of them were wielding a weed-eater or behind a push mower.
The first mow of the season is always the worst.
But it’s in the books for spring 2024. 🙂
I’m a big chicken when it comes to a riding mower on a hill or close to a ditch, so I pushed mowed all that part. Behind the barndo the slope doesn’t LOOK that bad, but on a mower it sure feels like a mountain. Come to think of it, when you’re behind a push mower, it feels like a mountain too.
Rain turned my 2 day project into 1.
While I would’ve liked to have stretched the job over 2 days, rain was in the forecast and sure enough… it was raining before bed last night. I started out chilly in the morning, but the temp hit just a tad over 70° by late afternoon. It was a beautiful day in rural Crothersville!
Now you know: African elephants have been known to bury or assist humans who are dead, sleeping, or injured. A woman once fell asleep under a tree and woke up to find an elephant gently touching her. As more elephants arrived, they covered her with branches. The next morning, she was found unharmed.
