Yesterday started with a soft rain along with my first cup of coffee. It wasn’t enough to make me feel good about not watering my flowers the night before, but it was enough to make the chair I typically sit in wet since I’d closed the umbrellas thinking we might get wind overnight.
By evening, we’d had more than one ferocious downpour coupled with tornado warnings. There was a confirmed tornado in Mount Vernon, Indiana, that caused some damage. No injuries were reported — amazing considering it caused roof collapses at a trailer park and a major gas leak.
Ole’ Beryl derailed a train, split power poles in half and overturned tractor trailers, on its way through Indiana. Crothersville residents were upset because Spectrum Internet was down. While that seems a frivolous thing to complain about — it’s the way a whole bunch of people stay connected to learn of weather danger.
The only thing it did here was cancel my furniture delivery. 🫤
Too early this morning to know what kind of weather today will bring. I have a 13 year-old that’s hoping for sunshine so she can swim. Looking at the forecast, she may get to swim… but under mostly cloudy skies.
