Friend and cousin, NaLona, is extremely technologically challenged. She came here for help and right as I was about to enter the code I requested be sent to her phone… eeek! There was darkness and total quiet. All power was gone. ARG!!
It was out for hours as the wind continued to blow.
Ole’ NaLona hung around for awhile waiting for REMC to restore our power. Once she gave up and left, I took a nap. When I woke up, we still had no electricity. It was out for several hours and even that felt like forever.
But it was only a taste of what those in Florida and other southern states are experiencing. I’m guessing their ‘no electric’ time is spent cleaning up rather than sleeping. And today it’s STILL raining here. I’ll have a total in inches for you once it stops and Mr. Pesky checks his rain gauge.
There is some good news to report!
- There are no uprooted or downed trees on this property that I’m aware of yet — at least none near the barndo.
- Although the last leg of Katie’s flight home from Denmark was a wild ride, she landed safely and all is well.
- While it’s still a bit breezy, it’s not as bad as yesterday and the wind advisory ends tonight at 7:00 PM ET.
- The pool cover remains on the pool! Ben and I are rockstars! BAM!
Now you know: The term Luddite refers to a person who is resistant to new technologies, especially computers.
