Weigh-in day today, and although we’ve not yet shared photos of our feet on the scale, I’m pretty sure I’ll be last in this week’s loss. Once I get to a certain weight, it takes FOREVER for me to get below that. Have you had that happen too?
Even with the increased exercise brought on by cooler fall mornings, I’m stuck with a scale that won’t move.
Come to find out, it’s a real thing!
I thought it was just me… or maybe just in my head… but no! Research suggests that your body has a certain preferred weight range that is influenced by genetics, metabolism, and hormones. Your body responds to keep you at that set point, making it harder to lose (or gain).
Right now, my body is performing exceptionally well at that task even though I’m being consistent with the ole’ diet and exercise. That’s all I know of to do. That and likely lose the fat girls weight challenge this year. 🙁
And it’s not just my body that has a preferred weight range. My brain does too. I’m fine where I’m at right now and don’t really care if I lose another ounce. Matter of fact, my brain is already wondering what sweet goodness my Momma will be baking today. I sampled her latest creation, upside-down persimmon cake, and it was amazing!
Now you know: It takes more than 60 days to climb Mount Everest.
