Thanksgiving 2024 is in the books

Nov 28, 2024

We’ll be eating leftovers after the Thanksgiving holiday at least through the weekend. Oh! You too?

I’m ok with that because our meal this year was amazing! Perry outdid himself with the ham this year — he’s a Pit Boss expert and his cherry glazed ham is one of my favorites.

We weren’t too sick to eat.

We didn’t eat with the pesky neighbors this year since our home is full of sick people, but we did share dishes. Katie came around early evening since she’s young and brave. She’s already had this nasty bug and since she’s now living in Tennessee, every visit is important. She stayed long enough to get the dogs all stirred up and wild.

Feeling yucky didn’t hinder other Thanksgiving traditions.

It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving if everyone didn’t take a nap once their bellies were full.

And finally, we finished off the night watching National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Thanksgiving 2024 is in the books and Christmas is right around the corner. Here’s hoping you have lots to be thankful for, and you have leftovers to enjoy over the weekend too. 😉

Now you know: Thanksgiving’s date wasn’t fixed until 1941. Before that, U.S. presidents chose the date, with George Washington declaring the first national Thanksgiving in 1789. Thomas Jefferson refused to observe it, calling it too religious.
