brains function improperly in the dark

Mar 30, 2025

Last Sunday, Ben had to work and I drove Colette north in rain and storms. Here we are… Sunday again… and it was a repeat. I missed my buddy, Alisa’s, birthday bash and I sure hated that too. Here’s hoping it made turning ::cough:: 45 years old ::cough:: easier just knowing so many (especially her #1 son), know she’s amazing.

And to think, it wasn’t that many years ago that she felt she had to wear her name on her shirt and initials on her glasses just so people knew she existed. 😉

Power is finally on!

This evening’s storm brought a power outage that lasted for about 3 grueling hours. It’s funny how your brain operates when you’re so used to having electricity, computers, and the Internet. I had candles lit everywhere and after chatting with Perry in the dark, I became bored in about 30-minutes.

My brain in the dark ran through a bajillion activities I COULD do. Thing is… every single one of them required either electric or internet… or both. Der!

Now you know: Ancient Athens had a system called ostracism, where citizens could vote to exile someone for 10 years without a trial, often used against powerful or controversial figures to protect democracy.
