the pool is naked and it wasn’t easy to get it that way

May 25, 2025

When I lived in the little house just down the road from the barndo, I always had a pool. I said it was for Ben and his friends but honestly, I spent as much time in there as anyone else. Of course, this pool is for Coco… but I was in it a whole lot more than she was last year.

The cover is off and the hose has been working overtime.

The cover coming off didn’t leave a sparkling clean pool, but it’s not awful. To be nice and clear, the cover would’ve needed to be off of there around the 1st of May. There aren’t leaves to dip out (we were weeks doing that job last year) and it basically looks like it’s went 3 weeks without chlorine — which it has.

It should clear up long before the water is warm enough for me to get in. Coco says she doesn’t care how cold it is… she’s swimming. She’ll look cute even with blue lips. 😉

It wasn’t an easy task!

When I had a pool at the little house, I don’t remember the cover being so hard to get off. I’m not sure if it was because there wasn’t 1,000 pounds of leaves (no trees near the pool there), or if we were all just younger then, but we struggled hard for hours yesterday. This year it was Ben, Perry, and me — and we could’ve used at least 10 more hands.

It wore the puppies out just watching us. 😉

Now you know: In 1995, a boy was discovered with blood containing no trace of his father’s DNA due to an extremely rare case of partial human parthenogenesis, where the mother’s egg cell divided just prior to fertilization, making parts of his body genetically fatherless.
