The yard here at the barndo isn’t huge, but it’s still quite a bit to mow. The backyard isn’t all that large, but the front, sides, and the strip in front of the woods still takes a while.

As I mentioned earlier, the ole’ Cub tractor mower I’ve had forever is done. No more $100 here and $200 there to keep it going — it was just time to retire the old thing.
I didn’t want a zero turn mower.
But that’s what I got.

It will take getting used to but I think it will be just fine. I’ve always controlled the mower speed with my foot and this is all controlled with your arms/hands. It has a 50″ cut and more than enough speed to make me dangerous. I’d say it won’t take as long to mow everything once I’m comfortable driving it. I’ve also never owned a Husqvarna. Although Carl swears by the Kawasaki motor, I’ve had great luck with Kohler engines in the past.
It’s a big change…
I did learn something when looking at mowers! I learned that a “stamp deck” (made with one piece) is bad — and a “fabricated deck” (welded with heavier gauge steel and more durable) is good.
All I know is I’m not getting close to the ditch on this thing because I don’t want to roll over and die.
Now you know: Long term chronic recreational ketamine use is associated with a reduction in grey matter, a decline in cognitive function and bladder inflammation.
