The heat wave we’re experiencing has life left and isn’t supposed to end right away, so there’s time to use your mailbox for cooking. Lasagna and meatloaf are options you might want to try. Seems like my tribe isn’t interesting in eating hot food, so I’m going to pass on that option. I have fresh salad in the fridge, several different fruits, and last night we had tuna salad sandwiches. Now I’m out of ideas other than lunch meat.
It’s so hot, the handle on the front storm door is fire.
Only early mornings are tolerable outside.
After 9:00 AM, even the puppies stay inside until the deck is shaded by the barndo. With rugs covering the painted deck, it’s still hot on their feet.
My appointment at the plastic surgeon is later today and I’m so ready!
Knowing this procedure is soon to be a memory (although I’m sure there will be more in my future), I should be able to get outside more in the coming days. The spot on my forehead is right where a cap would sit, so it’s hard to figure out a face covering until I heal. A beekeeper’s veil would work, but I don’t have access to one of those.
I’ll have to keep my shoulder out of pool water for at least a week but after that, I’ll be outside making more basal cells. 🙂
