It’s time for the annual fat chicks diet contest and I’m not feeling it this year. Jerilyn and I could lose 10 pounds… but not Katie. The thought of meal prepping and counting points via Weight Watchers makes me sad.
Bring on the fresh garden vegetables!
Mr. Pesky is still struggling with his back so this year’s garden is struggling as well. I LOVE fresh tomatoes and those babies are zero points. Same with cucumbers & onions in vinegar — so long as you don’t add sugar to the mix (and we always do).
Nothing says rural living like a kitchen window that looks like this:

Too much rain is good for some things — bad for others.
This never ending rain has Mr. Farmer’s bean fields looking good enough to be on a postcard. It’s also made the tomatoes in Mr. Pesky’s garden split before ripening. (Tomatoes that split before they are ripe often occurs when heavy rain or overwatering causes them to swell rapidly, causing the fruit to expand faster than the skin can stretch.)
All this rain has my outdoor plants thriving — so that’s a plus, I guess.

For various reasons, (primarily health related), we’ve not enjoyed the pool much at all this year. I’m hoping to get back to ‘normal’ soon and into the summer swing of typical activities we enjoy. I look forward to doing more of what I love about living here in rural Indiana, and spending a lot less time in doctor’s offices and watching it rain.
Now you know: In 1994, Pearl Jam canceled their summer tour after discovering Ticketmaster was adding unfair service charges. In protest, they began building their own venues in rural areas and sold tickets directly to fans to keep prices low and avoid corporate influence. (They didn’t make it to Crothersville though.)
