not enough rain to register in the gauge

Jun 10, 2026

Lanesville & Corydon, Indiana, had major flash floods yesterday. Video clips shared on social media show how awful it was for those living in those areas. Some evacuated and others were stranded… they recorded 8.38” of rainfall in a short amount of time.

We had a sprinkle.

I had the hose in the pool to top off the water level when I heard it begin to rain. I ran outside and was soaked by the time I got the faucet turned off the hose end pulled from the water. The second I got back inside, it had stopped. It rained barely enough to give my flowers a much needed drink.

Today, the air feels wet and heavy — and it’s incredibly HOT.

It’s miserable hot. Like… be careful because you can’t get your breath kind of hot. There’s a “special weather announcement” for our area that says, “Dew points into the 70s will bring heat indices to between 95 to 104 degree range during peak heating today and tomorrow.

We still need rain.

Of course, A/C companies are crazy busy right now.

I called S&L this morning to schedule service. My call was for a plumbing issue and not A/C related… thank goodness. Here’s hoping you can stay safe and cool wherever you are. At least the humans here have a back-up ‘stay cool’ plan…
