i want to be more like Hugo and less like Merida

Hugo — the starving stray — doesn’t care about food. Merida is the complete opposite and is food obsessed. Oh! To be more like Hugo…

food doesn't tempt Hugo

Not tempted by food.

I feed my hounds twice per day. Dharma and Merida are right there, ready to belly up to their bowl. Hugo will lazily lie down by his bowl of food and guard it until the other 2 finish eating.

If I take a few morsels from his bowl and give to the other 2 dogs, he will eat a bite or two. This goes on until I pick up his bowl and take it to the family room; sit on the couch with him; and put bites in front of him.

First “real” physical therapy day was today.

I have a set of stretches I’m doing 3 times a day and have PT scheduled 3 times per week. Other than that, I’ve been instructed not to do normal walking.

That means I need to eat like Hugo if I don’t want to be a tank like Merida.

Now you know: During WWII, the US military developed the T13 Beano Grenade to be exactly the size, weight, and shape of a standard baseball. The theory was that almost any young American man would already know how to throw it with accuracy and distance.
