i’ve been mia – it’s what happens sometimes when you’re old

Aug 6, 2026

Imagine me not having anything to talk about! Thing is, I try not to be negative in every post and I simply didn’t have much to say that was positive. I still don’t.

Saying this again for the people in the back…

Healthcare sucks. My physical therapists say my problem is hip related — the Nurse Practitioner (because I can’t seem to get past her) says it’s my back. This is the same NP that gave me Meloxicam without first checking my BP and that made up stories in my patient file.

I’m doing stretches and traded off my beloved Mini Cooper for a car that’s easier to get in and out of and that doesn’t require me to shift gears.

No convertible — but it does have a nice sunroof — and I like it just fine. Here’s hoping some high school kid gets the Mini. 🙂

Walk. Walk. Walk.

When you have back issues, the most important thing you can do — besides stretches — is walk. My PT experts told me to do 5 minutes on the treadmill a couple times a day. That doesn’t sound like much since I was putting in an hour a day pre back/hip challenge, but at this point, even that is a struggle.

So then, my treadmill stopped working. 🙄

It’s a Scott hand-me-down and it’s been a great treadmill. I’ll get another one of those me thinks. So I mosey on over to the website for the brand and find their cheapest model is $7500. SEVENTY FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!

And that’s how my last week went and is why I have been MIA. Stop back tomorrow for (MAYBE) more aggressive BS.

Now you know: Canada’s $1 coin is commonly called the “loonie” because it has a loon on the reverse. When a $2 coin was introduced, depicting a polar bear, an MP proposed it be called “Nanuq”, Inuit for polar bear, but he was ignored because the public instead preferred to call it the “toonie” (2-oonie).
