3 reasons i want out of the apple ecosystem

Sep 5, 2026

This Apple fan girl is about done and there are 3 reasons I’m not feeling the love of Apple right now:

ONE.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max was a waste of money. I lose connection when my Android has bars; it randomly hangs up on people; and Android Auto beats Apple Car Play by at least 100 times. But the worst part is that the screen on my newer (and latest model) iPhone is jacked. For no good reason, the display keeps getting more and more blobs in it. (I know it’s dirty, but you can still see the screen flaws.)

TWO.

My Apple watch is a newer model and it won’t stay charged. I charge it during morning coffee and again before I go to bed at night. It won’t make it 24 hours… heck, it barely makes it 12.

THREE.

AppleTV is awful.

I’ve used AppleTV to connect to different apps for streaming TV forever. It’s to the point that the video quality is such total shit it’s like playing space invaders on an Atari box in the early 80s. With my Samsung TV, I don’t need it to connect to YouTube TV, Amazon Video, or any other app I want to use.

But I’ve fallen in the Apple ecosystem and I can’t get up!

Why am I still dealing with the Apple challenges?

  • I LOVE my MacBook Neo. It’s a great laptop that stays charged forever.
  • I have a bajillion photos stored in the Apple cloud dating back years and years.
  • A good camera in a phone is paramount to me. Even though my iPhone is garbage, the camera is better than my much older Samsung S22 Ultra.
  • It’s expensive to switch — phone… watch… etc! Oh my!

So I’m stuck. Are you having a similar experience with any suite of products you’re married to?
