Sitting at my desk in the dining room yesterday afternoon I caught movement next to the woods out of the corner of my eye. I turned around to see a wild turkey strolling around the backyard! I grabbed my phone to take a photo, but when I zoomed in to snap a shot out the window, the only thing I could see was the screen.
Next, I tried to slip out the front door but Merida heard the handle click and came bounding toward me. She slid on the doormat and banged into the door about knocking me down and of course, she about gave the poor turkey a heart attack. It ran back in the woods making turkey noises and will probably never come back. 😩
Progress is slow in the wall-less room.
The wall progress is slowly coming along. I have to wonder if I could’ve had it done already with a little help and the right tools. Pretty sure he’s splitting time here and on another job… but after hours of banging around I’m pretty happy when he leaves.
The mysterious vent…
See that vent in the photo above? We thought it was a second dryer vent (the dryer currently vents into the big garage part) but we were wrong. It’s where the bathroom is vented. Sooo… don’t come to a party here and poop because everyone will know. I didn’t care enough to have them relocate it and may regret that in the future. 😉
TIL (Today I Learned): The Davy Crockett was a tripod mounted gun developed by the US during the Cold War. It fired a tactical nuclear warhead with a range of up to 4 miles and a yield that caused fatal radiation within a radius of a quarter of mile.
