My Momma always told us not to pet stray animals. “You don’t know what diseases they might be carrying,” she would say. Of course, she was right.
Did Hugo share his parasites with his sisters?
Hugo’s fecal test was positive for unwanted parasites. He’s probably made Dharma and Merida sick too, so they each have to take the same round of meds that he’s taking. Thing is… he takes 1 pill a day, and the two 100 pounders have to take 5 per day. Capsules aren’t easy to give.
At least the sky was pretty on our way home from picking up the drugs:
Sometimes siblings suck.
My brother, Scott, and I likely gave each other colds and more throughout the years. If our parents would’ve stopped with one child, it would’ve been easier on Scott… at least as kids. But they went and dragged some other human into the mix — me — who didn’t obey the “don’t pet strays” rule.
And so here we are…
Merida is tolerating Hugo a bit better, much like Scott who stopped crying because I wasn’t named ‘Olive Oil’ after a time. I sure hope Dharma and Merida can appreciate Hugo at some point down the road. We have 9 more days of huge pills to be dispensed, and months of being terrorized by a puppy. I hope we all think it was worth it this time next year.
