the 2025 cereal war is strong at the barndo

Jan 28, 2025

I’ve never been a huge fan of cereal — that is, until our most recent fat chicks diet challenge. One of the things I discovered was blueberry/strawberry frosted mini wheats. While those little bricks of fiber are filling and not a big Weight Watchers point cost if I used almond milk, it became something I got used to eating.

No weight gain… yet… but still eating cereal.

We ended the big diet just before Thanksgiving and I’m still eating cereal — but not mini wheats — and I’m using whole milk instead of the almond variety. I’m not the only one around here that eats cereal as a snack (eggs are for breakfast), and I always ask what cereal is preferred when a box is empty. Currently, I’m obsessed with Blueberry Bran Crunch.

buy this cereal!

The problem is that others around here make their cereal choices but eat mine! It’s a cereal war of epic proportions. 😉

Why am I posting about cereal?

Currently, no matter what you read, whether it is on social or main stream media, politics are somehow involved. The changes we’re experiencing and feelings about them is a matter of perspective. Sort of like this ChatGPT image…

mouse eating cereal

No person on the planet wants a mouse eating cereal out of a bowl on the kitchen table (not even me although it’s Ben’s cereal choice). But you can see it as a nasty rodent about to leave disgusting, disease-ridden droppings where you eat — or you can see it as a really cute mouse that looks like it could be the star of a children’s book or a Disney movie. Again, it’s about perspective.

Not everything is black and white and there’s sure more to life than political divides. Go buy yourself a box of Blueberry Bran Crunch and engage in things you enjoy — like eating — to help put the chaos of politics into perspective. 🐭
