white tomatoes masquerade as pineapples

Jul 29, 2025

Mr. Pesky planted a few white tomato plants this year. None of us had ever seen — much less eaten — a white tomato before. They are very meaty with only a few seeds. And while they taste like a regular tomato, when cut they look like a chunk of pineapple.

Even though the taste was great, I prefer my homegrown tomatoes to look like tomatoes! I’d love nothing more than to have a big tomato on a plate smothered in Hellman’s mayonnaise… or on a couple slices of bread with bacon and mayo with that tomato. But thanks to the fat chicks diet shit I can’t do that. GRRR!

My Momma got crafty!

While Mr. Pesky was slaving away in the garden, my Momma was browsing the Internet and got all kinds of crafty vibes that she put to good use. She purchased fairy lights with lids for mason jars that are solar powered (pictured on the L and R of the photo below). I need about 5 more of them because one of these belong to Colette. 🙂

Even if I could go back in time, I wouldn’t want to be in law enforcement.

Such a sad day yesterday with mass shootings in Reno and then NYC. I saw where $50K sign-on bonuses are being offered for ICE enforcers. I wouldn’t want to do that job either, even though $50K would come in handy.

I listened to a bit of the press conference about the NYC shooter. They said he had a history of mental illness. Then an image of his personal protection permit was shared and I have to wonder… how did he get that? Crazy, crazy world we live in. 🙁

Now you know: In 1942/WW2, the Japanese army made Allied POWs sign a pledge not to escape. Most Australian POWs signed “Ned Kelly”, an infamous Australian outlaw, knowing that Japanese administrators who were not familiar with English names.
