Blood Moon 2025 — one of the most dramatic astronomical events of the decade — isn’t visible tonight in the US. The eclipse can be seen in Asia, Australia, eastern Africa and Europe. I would’ve traveled to Mumbai (I’ve never been there before and I like the way it sounds), but Hugo took too long to eat his dinner.
I guess I’d rather stay home than watch the rare crimson spectacle anyway.
Surprisingly, flights from Indy to Mumbai, India round trip is just over $1K. The bad news is… it’s about a 17 hour flight. That’s 17 hours of not having a hound pester me to play 24/7.
Blood Moon 2026… can you hang on until March?
The entire North American continent can view the blood moon total lunar eclipse on March 2-3, 2026! The view will be best for those on the West Coast, particularly Alaska and California. They will experience the full event high in the sky.
But viewers in the Midwest (ME!) and East Coast will see get to see Blood Moon 2026 too. It will be a shorter totality near moonset.
