so long May, see you again next year!

May 31, 2026

Tomorrow is the first day of June. It feels like summer outside today even though it’s not official for another 3 weeks. The pool still believes it’s spring — not warm enough to be welcoming.

In 2023, Mr. Pesky swam on this day.

The water was 72°, but he was tougher back then. Obviously.

Although the pool is clean and ready, I’ve yet to put the thermometer in there. I’m afraid it would be too depressing. Colette is the only one brave enough to get in the water when it’s so cold, but I’ll betcha she could bat those big brown eyes and get one of us oldies but goodies in there with her.

Homeownership requires maintenance.

We noticed a couple bad (really bad) pieces of wood in the decking here at the barndo. Not trusting anyone I’ve had do work previously, I asked my buddy, Alisa, about Ric coming out to take a look. He agreed!

deck needs attention

There’s not one person on the planet I would trust more than Ric when it comes to just about anything — seriously, I don’t know of one single thing he can’t do. He took care of the above problem and will be back to finish the rest.

They are the modern day power couple! 🙂

You may be thinking I’m talking about Donald & Melania Trump… or maybe even Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce. But no! It’s Alisa & Ric for the win! Alisa is the best cook I know… and I’ve already told you about Ric.

Best friends last a lifetime, you guys.

Now you know: Mayo Clinic data found that individuals living within one mile of a golf course have a 126% higher risk (more than double the odds) of a Parkinson’s diagnosis compared to those living six or more miles away.
