what do you mean it’s not summer yet?

Jun 13, 2026

We still have a full week before it’s officially summer. That doesn’t seem possible when we’ve not had any horrific weather here (not complaining) and some incredibly warm days (still not complaining).

Today was our 2nd day in the pool for the season.

I sent this photo to Katie:

poolside in spring

She replied with a photo that obviously said, “I’ll call your pool and raise you an inground pool with a better chair.

Katie definitely won that round. 🙂

Perry and I had a disagreement about who was the first in the pool this season.

He says he was — I say it was me. He DID put the steps in, but he was only standing on them so they’d fill with water. That doesn’t count as getting in the pool, I say.

No matter which one of us was first, summer isn’t even here yet. That means we’ll hopefully have plenty more days to enjoy it.

Now you know: In 1947, scientists dumped crushed dry ice into a hurricane just to “see what would happen.” The storm then made a 135-degree turn, strengthened, and struck Georgia—sparking public outrage and threats of lawsuits over the experiment.
