Brand loyalty is a big deal. Tons of money is spent to research how you get it and everyone with a product or service wants it. Scott McKain could explain in great detail how to create it, but since this is a personal BLOG, I’m simply going to share a few brief thoughts on one brand I’m loyal to…
I’m a MINI for life. Why?
Because I’m now part of the MINI family! Seriously, I am! MINI told me so.
Not only did they TELL me I’m part of the family, but they often SHOW me I’m a valuable family member as well. Cute mail, invitations, stickers, vacation ideas — just small, inexpensive little reminders that they love me. Sorta’ like hugs. I don’t even notice when they throw in a little advertisement to buy something for my MINI. The items are so cool I WANT them, can’t wait to spend money for them, and am appreciative MINI was kind enough to let me know about them. It’s like Mom telling me eggs are on sale at Wal-mart.
No matter that I hate how the seatbelt chokes me because the position is too high (or low), or the fact that if a large-sized cup is in the cup-holder when I shift into 5th gear I turn the heated seats on even when it’s summer and my butt gets so hot I think I’m having a stoke, or that there isn’t room for a 5 year-old to ride comfortably in the back seat behind a long-legged driver (ME!) — I will buy another MINI Cooper!
When I think about the brands I am most loyal to — Apple, MINI, Maui Jim, and more — they certainly aren’t selling the cheapest product out there, but yet, I keep going back and buying their stuff over and over again.
Brand loyalty is a very big deal. And, I’m a MINI for life.
PS. Yes, my hair color is different again — 3rd change in a month. I don’t have to tell you that I’ve yet to find a brand I’m loyal to in that regard.
