good thing it’s free

It’s a good thing that Facetime is free.  We had a video chat with those pesky neighbors (who aren’t even my neighbors anymore) that lasted about an hour. Sure do miss them — but not as much as someone else does.

Aunt Loraine, that was married to my Dad’s brother Roland, passed away last week. That leaves only two — my Uncle Max (Dad’s brother) and Aunt Betty (Dad’s brother Jack’s wife). Both are sharp as nails with hearts of gold.

Yesterday, we made Valentine bracelets. Colette shared one so I would be accepted into some fancy club just for girls with bracelets. Go me!

I know the time my Dad spent in Korea was hard. Although he didn’t talk about it much, I know his hearing was severely impaired from nearby mortar explosions. I’m guessing he probably didn’t feel safe or secure — and most likely missed home.

Obviously, from the photo below, he still found things that made him smile. His brother… music… and new friends. (Uncle Max is far left — Dad is squatting and is 3rd from left.)

For the record, Ben looks exactly like my Dad… Coco thought that’s who it was in the photo.

PS. Happy Valentine’s Day!
